May 14, 1947 Reverend Dr. Mont. C. Oliver, Pastor of Ferndale First Church along with the young adults and Board of Religious Education of Ferndale First received permission to establish a Mission Outreach Sunday School in the City of Oak Park.
September 28, 1947 Sunday School opened at the Ferndale: Jefferson School with 56 in attendance
Summer, 1950 Survey of Oak Park Community. Scotia Road /Oak Park Boulevard area selected for new church.
October 29, 1950 First service held, led by Dr. Gordon Philips, Executive Secretary of the Methodist Union. Ferndale women organized two circles in Oak Park area; Mrs. Vera Priebe elected chairwoman of the Friendship Circle.
December 24, 1950 First Children's Christmas Program
January 21, 1951 First members received into fellowship.
1951 Land lots 544, 545 and 546 on Scotia Road purchased. $8,000 grant received from Methodist Union to renovate portable frame structure for worship facility.
March 25, 1951 First Easter Service held included first baptisms and start of Building Fund.
May 20, 1951 Mr. George Bery donates pulpit
May 24, 1951 The Methodist Church in Oak Park, Michigan declared an Ecclesiastical entity. First officers confirmed.
June 1, 1951 Chartered membership closed with 21 members
June 3, 1951 Faith Methodist Church, name selected
June 17, 1951 Altar cross present by Berkley Church
June 27, 1951 First official board meeting, Richard Marshall, Mayor of the City of Oak Park, elected Chair
June 29, 1951 First full time Pastor, Reverend Jesse R. DeWitt
July 1, 1951 First Communion service held
